gravydanger's music

In this project I focus on music that could appear in video games. Please see the bottom for what you can do with my songs for free and when I want something in return (getting credited, usually).
The songs are shown in chronological order – no favourites.

Note: unlike all other platforms, Deezer started removing unpopular songs in 2024, so my songs might disappear from there at any time.

Ill-Conditioned

You're in a maze of twisty passages, all alike. Gradually, your mind adapts to twist in just the same ways, until the maze fades and routine remains. Lots of square and sawtooth arpeggios. A bit of electric guitar. Not much going on, more focused on repeating riffs and atmosphere and a steady beat.

C minor, 96 bpm, 4/4. First released 8 Apr 2021. UPC: 055855127426, ISRC: SE6A92177161.

Impatience

On your quest, you encounter a stretch of land unlike anything you've ever seen. You will make it through, as you always have, but it will change you. Blends orchestra (and some solo violins), synths and a bit of electric guitar, with a middle part that went a little film music on me.

D minor, 116 bpm (except middle part), 4/4. First released 27 Jun 2021. UPC: 055855143778, ISRC: QZAMM2166286.

Progress

Occasionally, you may experience periods in which everything works out perfectly and those level-ups just keep on coming. Major focus on chiptune elements and a level of upbeatness that does not suit a day that is merely average.

F major, 120 bpm, 4/4. First released 22 Aug 2021. UPC: 055855144140, ISRC: QZAMM2183353.

Haste

Sometimes, going fast is the only way. Throw together a few straightforward riffs, a breakbeat and some weird stuff going on in the background, and you get something that isn't particularly fancy but at least it feels fast.

F♯ minor, 140 bpm, 4/4. First released 23 Sep 2021. UPC: 055855144171, ISRC: QZAMM2194805

Night Fight

Playing games is not necessarily the best way to pass time, but at least it passes time. First song with vocals! Heavily processed vocals, but still. This is modeled after synthwave music but a little more laid back.

E♭ minor, 96 bpm, 4/4. First released 20 Dec 2021. UPC: 055855144218, ISRC: QZSR42113707

Tileset Six

Forget grinding – the other tedious part of certain games is traversing endless landscapes. Welcome to Tileset Six, you'll be seeing a lot of it in the next couple of hours. My first successful attempt to make a song suitable as background music, without too much excitement going on; it still has some decent variation in it, though.

G minor, 94 bpm, 4/4. First released 16 Apr 2022. UPC: 055855144249, ISRC: QZSR42143352

Licensing and terms and such

Please feel free to download and listen to my music with absolutely no obligations, or listen to it on any of the music streaming sites (see the direct links for each song). In theory you could also buy MP3 downloads on sites like Amazon but there's absolutely no need; they are only there because uploading my music to the streaming sites put it there as a side-effect. You can download them here for free!

If you pass any of my songs on to others, please leave the credits/tags intact or tell them my name so I get that sweet, sweet word-of-mouth. Links to this site or my catalog on your friend's preferred streaming site would be appreciated, too.

If you want to use my music in Twitch streams for background music or in your frag video or something like that, go ahead! Please credit me if it's not too much trouble. I'd also like to know about it, so shoot me a link or something (again, if it's not too much trouble).

If you want to edit or cover my song, again, feel free to go ahead, but only if you apply similar rules to your own works (see below for the legal details) – and again, please let me know about your work, I'm interested to see what you come up with!

In theory I could set up some kind of special licensing thing if you want to use my songs (edited/covered or not) for commercial purposes, but I don't really want to deal with the tax implications and such. If you really, really want to do something like that, please contact me and maybe I'll change my mind.

Formally speaking...
